2012 League: Unova Challenge

The league cycle is divided into eight seasons, each of which lasts about five weeks and represents one of the badges that can be earned by defeating Unova region Gym Leaders! When each season begins, you'll receive a card like the ones below and you can join anytime during the season, even if we are halfway thru a season!

As you participate in league events, you'll use this card to keep track of your league matches. If you play in enough matches and track them on your scorecard, you'll earn special promo cards! And, if you meet more specific goals you can even earn exclusive Unova league badges!

Common Questions

WHAT IS A LEAGUE?
A Pokémon League is a casual, friendly environment where fans of both the Pokémon TCG and the Pokémon video games can meet and play games.

WHO RUNS LEAGUES?
The Pokemon League in LaGrange is run by Derek Farber, who is also the area Premier Tournament Organizer and runs over 40 Tournaments a year for the Pokemon Company.

HOW ARE LEAGUES RUN?
League cycles last approximately one full year, usually ending in August and starting in September. Each cycle generally contains eight seasons, and each time you get together to play scheduled league games is a league session. Because fun and participation are the focus of a Pokémon League, players earn the same stamps and awards no matter whether they win or lose the games they play. Players may join a league at any point in the league cycle and at any point during the league season. Players are not required to show up to every league session, however the more you show up, the quicker you can earn league only rewards.

HOW LONG IS A LEAGUE SEASON?
League seasons generally last between a month and six weeks. Most leagues meet once a week for a few hours.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO A LEAGUE?
Players should bring their own 60 card deck of Pokémon TCG cards and/or their Nintendo™ DS and Pokémon DS Black and/or White games to play with. Many players bring extra cards along to trade.

HOW MUCH DOES A LEAGUE COST TO ENTER?
League play in LaGrange is Free

WHAT CAN I EARN AT A LEAGUE?
Pokémon Organized Play supplies League Leaders with prizes like promotional cards and patches to be awarded to players that participate in enough league games. These items are free to the League Leaders, and are never sold at the league. Many of these prizes are specific to the league season and are unavailable after that league season is over.
In addition to prizes that are awarded at the league for participation, players also earn points that can go toward our Player Rewards program. The more you play, the more you can earn!
